I am a dentist and orthodontist. My work focuses primarily on adult orthodontics, orthodontic treatment alongside jaw surgery, and jaw joint problems.
Education and clinical work
I was born in Istanbul. After graduating from the English-language Dentistry programme at Marmara University’s Faculty of Dentistry, I completed my doctorate in orthodontics at Istanbul Okan University.
As an orthodontist, I work primarily with adult patients. I am particularly interested in treating skeletal problems that go beyond tooth alignment and involve the position of the jaws and the structure of the face.
One of my main areas of work is orthodontic treatment alongside orthognathic surgery, or jaw surgery. Preparing patients for surgery with clear aligners is an important part of my clinical practice. With this approach, I aim to make the preparation process more comfortable for my patients and easier to fit into their daily lives.
Other areas I work in include MARPE and surgically assisted SARPE, methods used to treat a narrow upper jaw. I also assess temporomandibular joint (TMJ) problems and plan suitable treatment options.
Alongside orthognathic surgery cases, I provide clear aligner and fixed orthodontic treatment for adults. For children aged seven and above, I focus on assessing orthodontic development, monitoring jaw growth and planning early treatment when needed.
Alongside my clinical work, I value continuing my professional development and keeping up with current scientific approaches. Sharing the knowledge and experience I gain in my areas of interest through training for colleagues is also a part of my professional life that I enjoy.
One of the things I value most in my work is creating a treatment plan suited to each patient’s needs. I take care to communicate openly with my patients at every stage of treatment and to move forward through decisions we make together.
